Oh, yes it does-I'm serious in it taking 2-3 minutes to disarm and I was led to believe everyone had this issue and it is both remotes. I just don't know if another dealer is going to wazoo me for something another dealer installed and when I purchased the motorcycle it was "included" in the sale, "we put these on every Ultra we sell" type of thing. They told me that having the system was a greater deterent than having it functional. I sure wish I could get this light bulb to turn on<.
Well I must feel like the new Gumby on the block,My security fob does easily arm but is difficult(takes 2-3 minutes) to disarm and my dealer can't do it any quicker, so maybe I'll try another dealer. If I tried leaving my home after dark to get 400 plus miles away by morning the threat of hitting a large or small animal is too great-safety for the wife and I is more important when only having the weekend to ride and the meet up with the people we love to ride with. Thanks again for responding and I'll officially consider this horse dead.
I understand completely what your saying about the animals on the road at night. But your keyfob/alarm sensor or something is not right. 2 quick pushes on the keyfob unlocks mine with a chirp and flash the turn signals
My 05 FLHTPI can lock the switch without turning the wheel or I can lock the fork by turning all the way to the left. On my 06 Street Glide, the fork has to be locked to lock the switch. I agree it's a PIA.
I installed a center stand on my '06 SE Ultra. That allows bike to sit up straight and saves a ton of room when parking in tight quarters - even with wheel turned left and locked. It is surprizingly easy to get the 800# bike up on the stand, too. I couldn't be happier with mine. Drawback is that it will set you back $320.00. Actually, a little less unless your bike is lowered as mine is. The good news is that I installed it myself in less than an hour. You can check it out at eglidegoodies.
hmmmmm.....
The idea of the lock turned is to keep someone from rolling bike onto trailer. Why would you want to make it easier to steel, not that someone who wants it wont steal it. Having wheel cranked and using disc lock can detour a lot of casual thieves.
