+1 on this. My highway pegs saved me on a lay down in my driveway.

Check e-bay out for the lower support bars.....You can pick up a complete set of supports, bars and rails cheap...Sell what you don't need and recoup your cost of the profile bars....
That would be 49179-09 (chrome only)

For alot of riders, it's all about looks.
Rear bars are a good idea on any bagger, hard or soft......and they look good too.

Well, I went and did it. Got them thru Zanootti's (49282-09B). They list for $189.95 and they sold them to me for $148.20 plus shipping. Good customer service also, I messed up some stuff on my order and they were great in staightening it out for me. Didn't have them in stock at the time and they went backorder but I had them on my door step in less than 2 weeks. I'm not much of a wrench but there wasn't much to it really. Bars look good on the bike and they give me some peace of mind. Highly recommend Zanotti for your online needs. I guess I'll have to take another picture now for my signature. Thanks for all who provided input to my post.

Odd that nobody touched on something that's a REAl issue with saddlebag guards on a Street Glide. Yes, the new guards come with new bag supports. However, what nobody mentions is the antenna mount (new one supplied, old one won't work) now mounts much higher in the hole provision that is in the rear facia. So much higher that the base of the antenna is jammed up against the underside of the rear facia. And, high enough that it pushes the rubber grommet partially out of the hole. Not good. Trust me when I say, it WILL cause a stress crack at some point. That's a genuine Harley screw up there. The position of the old mount was just fine. Why they changed it is beyond me.
Just snapped a couple pics, you should be able to see what I mean. The is a way around it. But, it requires a piece from an accessory kit that I don't know yet if it can ordered separately. Will find out soon.

Hope this helps.

Hey Da Butcher they must of changed something in the kit because the new antennae mount that came with the kit that I got positioned the antennae in approximately the same position as stock. I'm not sure why yours' is so high. Your right about the stock mount not working. I eyeballed mine while changing out the bag support brackets and thought it should work. It did not. Had to change out with what came in the kit and it worked and was positioned just right.
