For me:
1) Stage 1: A/C and 2 into 1 pipes. In general this can be done without a re-tune.
2) Tuner: I chose Thundermax w/Autotune. A tuner is really a prerequisite for other more serious mods.
3/4) Cam: For me I am thining TW6, but still looking.
3/4) Big bore and mild head work. I am thinking 98" and head work.
My end goal is to have a flat power curve with a 100tq/100hp bike.

For the money, check out a Fuel Moto Power Package. I have the PCIII, K&N AC and custom tuned Rush slipons on mine and it was the best 7 bills shipped I've spent. That said, I am jonesing for more cubes, but that can't be helped.
I second this suggestion, and although both the PCIII and PCV are available for your '06 I would recommend the new model over the old. The cost difference is minimal and the PCV has some important new features. Call Fuel Moto for more info, and search this forum for excellent feedback from their many customers.
This is an inexpensive and easy plug-and-play mod, but if you want more power you can upgrade cams, increase displacement, perform headwork, etc.--but that should probably be a consideration only after you make the initial "Stage 1" upgrades.
Guys thanks for all of your input I will be looking into the performance mods. I don't want to get to wild right now. I know the bike already has slip-on, what type I don't know as of yet. It also has a set of pull back handle bars and the bike as far as fit works for me right now. So the A/C, tuner and the tensioner will be what I'll be looking at for now. The bike has 53,000 + miles and if the engine craps out I'll be looking at the big bore kits and cams at that point but for now I'm going to keep it calm cool and collected. Thanks
Contact Fuelmoto. Pipes and air cleaner will cool bike down, add a little power, and sound better, but the stock EMS is not the best and a Power Commander will provide better throttle response.
Not a performance upgrade, but sure makes you more visible on the road....headlight modulator. https://www.kisantech.com/view_produ...roduct=P115W-S I swear by them. It has kept MANY people from pulling out in front of me.
I think a SERT or PCV is overkill for a stage I upgrade. You can do the SE air cleaner and slip on's and a ECM download for just a few hundred dollars. Adding a PCV to that would just about double the cost.
Here's how I did my stage I for about 300 bucks....
Slip on's: 150 bucks. Used screamin eagle II's (manufactured by supertrapp, currently known as supertrapp se's) great condition, new endcaps.
stage I a/c: 64 bucks brand new from forum member (thanks Ricky)
V&H fuelpak: 110 bucks used, perfect condition from forum member (thanks Jeff)
Best 325 bucks I have ever spent. bike runs and sounds like a hot rod, no driveability issues, and is cooler to boot. I'll probably spring for dual headers this winter, which will likely double my performance upgrade costs so far. I shop the HDF classifieds almost daily, and ebay and cl as well. This does not have to be a rich man's hobby.
