Just over 25000 on my ex-police RK. It came from the factory with the 103, oil cooler, and ABS. Also running SE stage 1 ac, V&H fuelpak, and Screamin Eagle slip-on's. The fifth gear whine is minimal, and of no concern whatsoever. It runs very strong, pulls like a locomotive, and is very comfy. I've changed out the stock police seat for a Mustang solo, and have a set of civilian bags that I'm gonna run instead of the cop bags with the hockey puck lids. My bike has the older pre-08 ABS, where the control module is located behind the right saddlebag. It really takes up a big chunk of space out of that bag, and I'd remove it, except the ABS really does work pretty well, and I think it's an important safety feature. I wish there was a way to upgrade my bike to the Brembo ABS that's being used now, but I gather that's not possible.
My only other complaint is the heat issue. Adding the fuelpak richened up the mixture a bit, and that seems to help, but I think I'm going to have to go to true duals. That's likely to be my next little project, but I'll likely wait until the winter off-season.
Just got my Roadie the middle of June. I've put almost 7,000 miles on her since, so she has 13,500 on her now. No major issues but I did have to replace a leaky rear shock. I've had the periodic weird idle and engine dieing senario too. It always seems to happen after I've run her hard thru 20 or 30 miles of twisties. So far that's always cleared up on it's own. V&H slipons is the only fuel/air mod. Running Mobile 1 Syn 20/50 in the crank and primary.
24,500 on the clock of my Ultra. No real complaints. A few minor issues, all covered under warranty. Starting to worry though after reading about the primary issues some have had. Plan on keeping it a while. This winter will add tru-duals, stabilizer, ricor intiminators and more bling.
For those of us with mainshaft issues, is this a possible cure?
On the 2nd sheet it says this 5th gear & mainshaft will be the replacement for all. However on the 3rd sheet it say's not retrofitable?
Seems like this is HD's answer to the previous years mainshaft bearing problems if you buy the redesigned kit?
The way I read it the new mainshaft will go into the 07 trannys but not the helical 5th? So now this is another "upgrade" that I need to put on mine? Already put on the IDS, will have a SE compensator next week to install, now the mainshaft is next? Gotta love the MoCo marketing, put out a defective product so they can sell "upgrade" kits.
I love my '07 Streetglide. I had a 103 kit and pipes, air cleaner and SERT installed before I rode it home. Fortunately I read this forum and have found out it's noisy and needs some IDS piece of crap, and that it wobbles in turns and needs a brace, and that I really should trade it in for an '09 or later bike with the "improved electronic throttle" to replace the cables that may break at some distant future date. Well I guess I'm not as observant as the guys "in the know" who post here. My old bike runs like a banshee, the tranny doesn't howl, rattle, or whine, the *** end follows the front, no wobble, and I have never broken my throttle cable. Come to think of it I never broke one in my life and I'm past 60 and have been riding at lot since I got my scooter permit at 14. Oh well thanks to the guys on the forum who tell me how bad this bike is, cause I would have never known it otherwise.
10-4
My story exactly other than I am not past 60 but will be soon.
