Thumbs up Another Home Run From LongRideShields

Just wanted to give Matt and Rob from Long Ride Shields a shout out for another great shield.

I've been riding with one of their 6" shields for a couple of months now after hearing about them here on the Forum and although it is a significant change from the stock 4" OEM shield from the MoCo I was still getting a little bit of buffeting on the top of my head. Going down the highway I could take my hand palm toward the shield and moving it upward to where I could start to feel the wind coming from the shield just at the top of my head with my Scorpion EXO-100 helmet on.

So I decided that I needed just a couple of inch's more (Yeah I know that's what she said )

After a little bit of confusion with emails not being answered, no fault on LRS's end, I PM'd Rob and was told that they were sorry for not getting back I was able to get a hold of Matt who made things right by offering me a deal on a new 8" dark gray shield.

Well the new shield arrived today and after the two minute install I headed out for a quick test ride. Got out on the highway and the buffeting I was having is gone. The shield just like the 6" looks great.

So thanks again Matt and Rob for producing a quality product at a great price.

I had the same type of experience with long ride shields. Good people.

The one problem I had with the 8" dark tint shield was at night.

At dusk it started to obscure my line of site and when it got dark I did loose a little bit.

Enough to bother me, so I went back to my 6" clearview.

It's a bummer because I really liked the way the 8" long ride shield worked on the highway.

If I could do it again I'd have gone with the med tint 8". I think it would be less intrusive for me.

I was a little concerned about the night riding myself. But this morning on my way to work when its still dark I had no problem. I'm still able to see over the top of the shield and although the 8" shield does limit your forward field of view a little bit I had no problems.

Still very please and looking forward to taking the long, long way home from work tonight.

Just thought I'd throw in a thumbs up for the Long Ride shields too. My past bikes had Clearview shields on them, and I was happy with them. For the new bike I figured I'd give the Long Ride a try. The LR is at least as nice, cheaper, and arrived at my house in a few days (rather than several weeks). Very nice!

+1 on the Long Ride Shields.

I replaced my stock Street Glide shield for a 8 inch clear Long Ride Shield.

I meant to use it only for long trips and to go back to the stock shield for around town. 10,000 miles later and it's never been off.
I'm 5.8 and the LRS provides good protection from the wind. My glasses no longer dance on my face from wind buffeting.

An added bonus was much less wind noise to my ears. This is actually one of the keys to really hearing your stereo with good sound separation.
I also like the way it looks, as it does not detract from the cool factor of a Street Glide.
