JR .. what you describe is also what crossed my mind. After my install, I have re-check the collar and re-tightened the bolt. However I still have this nagging concern. Let's see if others have any input on this or I am just being a worry wart.

Default No Worries

Once they go through a few heat cycles, and you've re-torqued them nice & tight, all is fine. Mine haven't moved a bit since that first week. I really don't think it's an ongoing problem.

JR .. yes I intend to do this re-torqueing of the collars for a few cycles. Your suggestion is appreciated. I also intend to keep an eye on that "tongue" piece that is slid into the rubber isolator and watch it for any bending that hopefully will not occur. THe MOs do weigh quite a bit when I was handling them as compared to the stock ones.

There is another thread in this forum about the unfortunate incidence of scrapping of the MO (as it stands ... still not ascertained whether it was due to clearance issues or just pure aggresive riding style).

By the way how are your tips installed?

Default Slash Up

I left my tips just as they came out of the box - slash up. That tounge piece is plenty strong - can't imagine that bending on its own.

I'm really happy with them; love the sound.

I just came back from a city ride with the MOs and after I parked the bike I noticed the right pipe was smoking. Did you guys have a run-in period and smoking pipes for awhile too?

Default Yes

Yeah, I had a little smoke coming off the front of the mufflers after the first run. I thought it was just the WD-40 I sprayed on before assembly burning off. Maybe there's some other stuff from manufacturing cooking off in there too.
