Default Keeping a Classic Classy

he all, I've got an '08 classic and am going to be making upgrades over the stock parts but dont know what way to turn with all of the choices out there..

Here's what I'm looking at.. Sorry I'm kinda stuck on stupid when it comes to this stuff.. I just dont speak the language.. ( motors)

1. I want it a bit louder and a lot faster on both the low and high end.
2. I dont want to screw up the ability to go for long hauls.. ( 2 months, 5000 miles so far)
3. I dont want to take away from the beautiful stock look.. so I've decided on Rinehart true duals with chrome tips until someone talks me out of them.
4. Have NO IDEA about CAMS. 203,205 SE-255) cams??? it's a forieng language.
5. is there a difference between the HD race tuner and the Power Commander 5?

the HD tuner is regulated by the epa and the power commander is not,
more power to be had out of the commander, But the HD Tuner is set uo to maximize the power in your bike and was made by the same company that made your bike.
The power commander has been known to cause problems down the rode but is attached to the bike, HD tuner is a download and is not attached to the bike

I would go with the Power Commander it is more versitile than the HD Tuner and remember a H-D service manager will never try to sell anything but HD parts no matter what. I would go with a good gear driven cam if your going to change yours, the Woods Cams are good. Talk to someone who builds motors not someone who's trying to sell you parts. Good luck.

Thank you fo the advise. I did take it and spoke to an buddy who just happend to be sicker than I am... He's going to be putting on the new Exhaust for me when I get it.. We're going to go with Vance and Hines head pipes and Rinehart mufflers. Now, you mentioed a good gear driven cam.. any suggestions? The suggestions I have been given have been anywhere from 203 to SE 255...

I dont want to go anywhere near what my buddy went.. ( Ultima 127" motor) 140 Horse..
