There was a discussion on this a few months back. It would be worth finding because someone there pointed to a link that outlined what the Texas laws called for on this topic.

I know a lot of people buy an inspection sticker plate and just attach it to a bolt on the side of the bike... just under the passenger peg.

I would like to see pics when you get done with the facia. I had thought I read doing this swap on a RK leaves some visible holes. I don't remember what it is that is removed that leaves the holes......

I mounted mine onto the front / left tank bolt.

You can see it in the picture below.

My set up doesn't have an inspection plate either. I haven't had an inspection in 3 years. I guess I need to get a plate and get one.

I threw the inspection plate with the tag on it inside the saddle bag. I figure if I get stopped for this, I will just play dumb and say I saw it loose and removed it until I can get home to get some tools.

Here's what I did with mine. I Dremel'd the old plate from the dealer (cut off excess) and bought a bracket from Lowes. I don't know if it's legal but I haven't been hassled yet.

Quicker Sticker put mine on the inside of my right saddlebag lid. Fine with me.
