....and you wonder why some of us just have it done at the dealer. I know it can be done and many have been successful but I hate doing something for the first time....it's always 2 or three times longer than anybody says and the directions usually suck.

Thumbs up Sweet Mary Mother of Jesus! It's done!

Well this afternoon after about two hours of work I was able to get the left and right side wires ran through the bars. Did the the left TBW first then the left controls. I think what did the trick was using the silcone spray lube rather than the clear guide I was trying to use in the beginning. The silicon spray did the trick with getting the left side control bundle through the bars with the TBW already routed. Now I can move on.... It's a good day.

So, I have not read the entire thread (only about half way through it) I am not seeing that folks have gone with the Yaffe "Super Clamp" Riser Clamp. I completely agree with swapping out to poly bushings and plan to do this, however I am starting to question going with the Yaffe clamp if most folks are leaving it stock.

Anyone mind sharing their thoughts on this?

BTW.... This is a FANTASTIC thread and just another reason why this forum rocks!!!

There are some years where Harley chose to us a two piece top clamp instead of a one piece. Yaffe's site says 2007 and earlier. 2008 and later you don't need the clamp. If yours is a two piece ('07 and earlier) you need to buy Yaffe's Super Clamp. I'm guessing you could also buy HD OEM for 2008 or later.

I looked at the first 30 pages or so then jumped to the end. Has anyone ever taken the green plugs off the TBW and heat shrink the pins together to extend the wires like you do on the other wires? I have been trying to figure out how to get the green plugs off
