OK, I am considering doing the job myself but only if I can find detailed instructions with pictures I can follow. I am wanting to get 10"or 12" Paul Yaffee Monkey Bars for my 08 EGC with ABS. Do anyone know? Would love to get this done without paying the labor cost. HELP!!!
You might want to check out kst kustoms for your bars. They are pretty sweet.
Those are only 12's? They look really tall maybe because they are pushed all the way forward?

Yep, they're the 12's...and in those pics they are pushed all the way forward like Dew's. I've since rolled them back a smidge though. Keep in mind I also have a 4" chopped shield on there, so that may make them appear taller too.
This is not meant to bash....I used Yaffe Bagger Bars that were either a 14" or the 16" bars smooth curved bars. The bars are good but should of got the 14 or 16 Yaffe Monkey Bars with the points.
With all due respect towards Mr. Yaffee the Super Size kit I received with this over priced purchase sucked. I'm still miffed about this purchase of the Super Size kit.
1. The Transmission Gasket was the wrong size..did not fit.
2. Silver stranded wiring kit for soldering and spicing is going onto copper stranded wires used by Harley.
3. Brake line hose kit is for show only and NOT DOT approved.
I bet Jesse James Dupree will be pleased to know that his $35K plus bagger Yaffee built for him is running these. Check out Issue 2 Vol 7 March 2013 American Bagger Magazine and you'll see them.
4. All brake line fittings had to be re-threaded...bad threads ALL.
5. Bad Brake doughnut...required re-threading all holes.
6. Clutch Cable on lasted 6 months before a leak from it started?
7. Only the bottle of transmission fluid was problem free.
Meanwhile, adding 12-1/2 HD bars with 4" risers to a 2012 Road King and other HD parts was a piece of cake compared to the other. And best of all...No Splicing and looks just fine.
Again all due respect and to each their own liking I'm just letting you and others know what I experienced with some of Yaffe product line. I think either one of the Yaffee bars at any height or type are fine, it's just the other stuff they sell with them...it's junk and over priced...IMHO

I just ordered the 12" pyo mbb. I have a 12 street glide. Will the stock wires reach everything or will I need extensions? Also what size clutch and brake cables do I need. And to confirm I don't have to replace the two lines to my front brake coming from right under the fairing? Just the line going from the bars to those correct?

Many thanks.
You do not need wiring extensions, you'll just have to reposition the connectors from underneath the radio, there's plenty of length.
I believe I went +4" on the clutch cable and wound up with excess, just snaked it around inside the fairing.
Can't answer the front brake hose length question, I went to single caliper.
If you don't have ABS, I believe the front brake lines & tee is all one assembly, from the M/C all the way to the calipers.
Another thought I've heard both yes and no. Is it possible to install heat demons on these bars without honing out the throttle side? Or is it so tight it's just not worth the trouble? Has anyone done this without incident?

If you can do it to stock bars you can do it to these. You likely will have to splice for longer wires and it will add difficulty to running wires.
Best to forget about heated grips and get you some Gerbings. They work better and have a lifetime warranty.
Yeah I agree just didn't know if it was worth it while I was there. So a +4 clutch any idea on the brake? And can I just replace the cable going from the bars to the split under the faring?
