Bout to pull the trigger on the MBB 12's. These are going on an '08 Ultra w/o ABS. Can someone tell me for certain how long clutch and cable lengths need to be. I remember reading that wiring should be long enough if re-routed under stereo. Also read a post that said he got his cables for $100.
Where is the best place to save some $$'s on stainless braided cables? Thanks in advance.
Here's my '99 Ultra finished. I went with the 12" MBB's and the LA Choppers cable kit for 12"-14" bars. The clutch cable is an inch or two too long, but sits just fine. Speaking of, I had to throw in the towel on that one and take it to an indy and let them run the cable for me because the old one was a b*tch to get out. Not bad on the wallet though, only about 1 hr labor. Throttle cables were easy as well as the brake lines...and this is coming from a first timer at doing this. Running the electrical through the bars wasn't as bad as I thought it would be either. If you do it, just make sure you push before you pull.
Anyway, here are a couple of pics. Hopefully I can get the before and after to upload.
BTW, the position feels great...but slow turns are taking a lot of getting used to.
