Default 12v power point flush mount in fairing

I want to install a 12v power point in the inner fairing some where between the gauges. Maybe on the opposite side of the trip/reset button. The only 12v power point I found on the hd site does not look to be flush mounted. I may ride down to the dealer this week to check it out.
Does the one hd sale for the side cover mount flush with just the cap part sticking up?

I seen a pic in the touring forum with one mounted flush with only the weather cap for the plug sticking out. It looked to be a 12v power point from hd.

I have the stock cig lighter socket which is flush mounted and I installed the weather cap on it, maybe what you saw. The HD 12v powerpoint comes with the weather cap and should mount flush for you.

I believe the inner fairing was red, and in the pic he had his gps mounted on the right handlebar.

It sounds like did what I want to do. Post a pic and part#'s if you can.

Not a good pic of it but here is mine on a Road Glide. Did the same thing on an '07 Ultra. Bottom left of the radio.
