Distinct smell of gas at intersections and when I get off the bike I can smell gas on my riding pants at the inner right thigh area. There's no liquid leak, just fumes. Any thoughts? Thanks.
I would say there almost has to be a liquid leak of some kind. (Even if it's a drop or two every few minutes.) Look for stains down in that area of the bottom of the tank? Fuel line, does the fuel vent tube go near that area on your bike? I also smelt gas fumes on my FXST and it took me a little while to see the stains start showing up. It turned out to be the vacuum fuel shut off valve leaking. Just a drop here and there, which could be blowing back onto your leg.
Mine only leaked while the bike was running, (I guess due to the vacuum "Turn on"?) This may also be the case for yours....
And gotta love EBAY! I found one on there off a parts bike for 20.00 shipped! (Dealer wanted something close to 80 I think!)
It's the fuel line supply and return fittings. Looks like the fittings are about $180.00 each!! I get the feeling it's the o-ring on each fitting. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Thank you.

What do you mean by the fittings? The shut off goes straight into the bottom of the tank, right? Lines from there out to motor?
Exactly where is it leaking from?

He's leaking at the disconnect.
There's an o-ring inside there.
