I have a 12" stock HD screen, but I look right at the top edge. I also have a 4" shorty ('04 cvo style) that looks great, but there's a fair amount of wind right in the face. It won't come out until June or July.
The 8" clearview should be pretty close to -3. Essentially no wind in the face, but if I hold my hand up, I can feel it just over the top of my helmet.
Your seat comes into play, too. I ride on a Corbin solo, which is fairly low.
I went with the Memphis Shades 17" Solar tint replacement for just under $90. Thicker than the stock unit, and was just about 2" shorter. Bridge of my nose is at the top of the shield.
