I would think that chrome mounting bracket on the end would hurt. LOL It is the first thin g to come off. I've got a couple hanging in the garage if anyone wants a spare. PM me.

I took mine off when I put the new saddle on, never used it before, never miss it since.

Actually, they are required by law to have a passenger grab strap, if the bike has a 2 up seat. Here in PA, in theory they can fail you at inspection if you have a 2 up seat, passenger pegs and no strap or grab handles. Never seen it enforced, but...

On the other hand, it's the first thing I've removed on every bike I've had.

I had taken the stock strap off, later the stock seat off. I placed a SERG seat on and placed the SERG seat strap on my battery charger, lol. I really did, the plastic carry handle on the charger broke off so now I have chrome and leather on the battery charger, LOL... Its not a fast battery charger though, its red. Should of bought the black one : (

to tuck your gloves under when u park....mine came off the day i brought it home, pain in the *** to take your seat off all the time

The strap always comes in handy for me for tucking things. I have a black eyeglass case that I hook on to carry glasses also tuck gloves under when riding or parked.

One thing you must remember, if you live in a state that requires a safety inspection, you must have the strap or a passenger backrest. I tried to get mine inspected in Maryland when I moved there, inspector when not pass the bike till I provided a backrest.
