I have a Craftsman 1/2" ft lbs that I bought when wrenching heads on a car. Didn't have a Harbor Freight around then and don't know if I would have bought one to do engine work or not. When I needed an in lbs one, I bought a HF one. Whether it's inferior or not, I don't know. I just needed to be consistent on what I was working on and it wasn't critical if it was right on.

Reason: Can't spell
I have all Craftsman torque wrenchs (clicking type) one is a 3/8 drive inch pound, one is a 3/8 drive in ft lbs and a big 1/2 drive in ft lbs.
I would bet Craftsman doesn't warranty past a year because people forget to back them off before storing them, that ruins the wrench.
This is very simple as with all things in life......You get what you pay for.
You buy ****, you own ****.....
SO True! After owning three CraPsman tourque wrenches over the years and discovering that they do NOT stand behind them when they both broke...I have this one by Precision Instruments http://www.tooltopia.com/precision-i...googlebase_18u It is a superior split-beam type with a flippin POSITIVE click release at point...love this thing.
A fantastic HIGH quality precision tool for a great mid-range price. The perfect balance of price and quality for my use. Buy quality...but no need to get carried away with Snap-On unless you use it daily, etc.
