I also have the 1.75 baffle and yes it's kinda quiet, I had the 2.25 on my first Fat Boy and I thought it was too loud.
How loud do you want it? Just try a new baffle. They are only like $65 right?
i had samson fishtails, straight pipe... LOUD. I just put a Rush 2" on my new SG, and I love it. not too loud at idle, nice low rumble, and it doesnt take much throttle at all for to sound like just wants $h1t and get! best of both worlds to me, especially after riding with those fishtails for so long.
I had Rush 1.75" on my '09 SG. Fairyly mellow. Bought some 2" from a friend and they were a "bit" louder. Maybe just take the packing out and see if that gives you the sound you want. Ended up selling the Rush with the 2" to a buddy.
Other wise, search ebay, this forum, and even Fuel Moto, and stick a 2.25" or a competition baffle from Jamie in the right side. The most air flow is there anyway and it would give more bark.
If they are really tight, do not force fit and/or pound them in. They will be a bear to ever remove.
If they are too snug, sand the baffle's bells a bit with a belt sander or something like it, to reduce the diameter. Careful not to sand them too much, as you don't want to create a rattle back there.
I also use anti-sieze where the metal to metal contact is. Not sure if it burns completely out, but I have been able to remover the baffles easily by hand.
Just a tip because I have seen some "projects" just trying to get a simple baffle out.
I have Rush Pipes with 1.75 baffles
should I go with the 2s or 2.25s
1.75" Baffle & Mat Kit
2.00" Baffle & Mat Kit
2.25" Baffle & Mat Kit
The 2.00" baffle will have about the same tone as the 1.75" but will be slightly louder and will not mellow out as much at cruizing rpm range. The 2.25 will be noticibly louder/deeper. The 2.25" and 2.50" baffles are for people who like 'em loud. We strongly recommend using a proper tuned fuel management system with the 2.25 and 2.50 baffles as the lack of back pressure will not allow a stock bike to recalibrate by itself.
