Hi all. The plastic stem inside my fairing broke off. There isn't enough plastic to the standoff inserted. Can you heat a piece of plastic to get it to stick on there? What's the best course of action to fix this puppy?
Try going to radio shack. They sell circut board standoffs in aluminum. You'll need to square off the broken post and then tap it for the standoff thread (male end). The standoff must have a 1/4-20 thread (female end) on the end for the screw coming from the fairing. You can buy these things in varying lengths. You'll need to see what's avaiable then trim off the broken piece accordingly. I hope that helps

there is a product called lord fusor (same stuff h/d recomends for bag extensions) its a 2 resin product and is tuff as nails..used it for the same issue on my scoot..worked great
I have the 2 standoffs and threaded insert for the repair. However, there isn't enough base to drill the hole for the insert. Fathertime where did you get the lord fusor epoxy? Let me know. Thanks.
I HAD the original piece once upon a time...Of course now that I'm motivated to fix the damn thing, I can't find it. I already chopped the bad part off. Maybe I can go to Home Depot and get a piece of plastic.
