Default Colorado Rides - Again

Good mornin', Guys. As a follow-up to my previous message, and thank you - to all the guys that responded; "Why haven't any of you responded with suggested Service Route roads?"
In the northwest region, these are paved roads with very little traffic but usually are quite narrow - so reduced speed is a most. In particular, I'm looking at what appears to be a SR out of Morrison, CO that goes through Idledale, through Kittredge and back to Indian Hills rejoining Hwy 285. Have any of you Coloradians travelled this route and if so; "Will you provide your thoughts on it and similar routes?"
Much Appreciated
G

CO-74 is a fun road with a lot of twisties. It can be sandy at times, and there are some curves that you MUST go through at a slow speed as it is a double-apex that WILL zap ya if you aren't prepared.

Overall, I've probably ridden that road >50 times over the last few year.

Shoot me a PM regarding where you are pondering rides and I'll give ya my thoughts.

That road out of Morrison is Bear Creek Canyon. The route you're refering to isn't very long. Most guys here ride on through Kitterege to Evergreen (cool little town). Another route is out of Evergreen to Idaho Springs and up Mount Evans. You get to ride your bike up to 14000 ft. on a paved road! There are tons of two lane twisty roads along the Front Range in Colorado.

Frisco to Leadville, over Independence Pass to Aspen, continue onto Glenwood Springs. Thru Glenwood Canyon Back to Frisco. Have rain gear with you any time of year. Remember not all mapped roads in Colorado are paved.

I heard that Glenwood canyon was closed due to a rock slide that punched 10' holes into the roadbed. I think they said the shortest detour was an additional 200 miles.

Bear Creek road takes you thru Idledale and Kittredge. Another better way is go west thru Morrison, Turn south oh Hi 8. You wil see the Fort resturant, a Denver landmark. Head to hi 285, turn west a few miles later you will see the turn off for Indian Hills. Take that, if you like a cold beer hit the Sit n Bull on the right side after 3-4 miles. It's a little know local hangout. The road will take you to Kittredge when you turn left taking you to Evergreen. Check out Little Bear when in town. Have your girlefriend/wife throw her bra into the rafters. Continue on past the lake and before you hit Bregen park the turn off for Mt Evans will take you west. Up and over Mt Evans and you end up in Idaho Springs. Beautiful ride. Does that help? I lived there for 25 years, I can ride those rodes blindfolded.
