I just spray it off with a can of carb cleaner than blow it off from the inside with low pressure air from my compressor. Takes less than a minute to do.
So here's my UOA with a full 5,000 miles on the oil. I've been running the KandP since 3,000 mi. I'm not here to argue with anyone, and I don't care what your anecdotal opinion is. These filters work, and they work well. The only ding on this analysis is increased viscosity, and that has nothing to do with the oil filter, (Heat and duration) No oil was added during this cycle and wear metals are nice and low. Don't compare your 2,500 mi. analysis to my 5,000 mi. analysis, concentrates increase with mileage. Cold oil through a 5 mic filter, full pulls at any temp, and/or high viscosity, the stock HD filter is bypassing everything, nothing is filtered. BlackStone labs specifically state insolubles and silicon are low, which indicate "oil and air filtration were working well." In case you're wondering, I run a K&N (don't get confused, K&P oil /vs K&N air) oem spec sized air filter in the stock air cleaner. Peace!

Think I'll stay with the H-D Spin-on. That contraption seems a bit too spendy for what it gives you. May be Ok for 'performance motors', but the average rider isn't going to benefit too much from the added expence. Haven't lost a motor in 50 years of riding! In the early days there was no oil filter and motors held up pretty good.

added expense? It is cheaper if you put a lot of miles on. I figure I have had mine on now for about 80,000 miles and I change oil every 3000-5000 miles so as an average I have changed oil 20X so far since I went to the K&P so I am money ahead. I agree if you do not put many miles on probably won't pay for itself. It does help the enviroment tho which I guess is either a plus or minus depending on your beliefs.
Yes sir mtclassic, you said it best and I knew exactly where you were coming from. Your post had a lot to do with the snippy comment I made about anecdotal opinions LOL! I almost didn't post for your exact reason. I made the move to KandP after reading about Baisley requiring it on his builds to maintain warranty; that was good enough for me.
