I have a 07 FLHTC. Took it for a ride yesterday got caught in the rain everything was fine on the way home. Was fine when I got home. Was out workin in the garage last night everything ok.Come home from work today the radio is on full blast, the dash lights are on and will not shut off. The switch is off.The battery is about dead.I can turn the radio off but i hear a buzz in the speakers.I pulled the main fuse for about an hour put it back in no change.Radio comes on dash light buzz from the radio.I dont know if this makes a difference but i have a Sony m60 marine radio with Biketronics install kit. Any ideas where to look?Whats going on?Help!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.
Who fitted the new radio? The symptoms you describe sound almost unbelievable. The radio should not be powered with the ignition switch off, and the speakers are not energised without the radio on.
It seems incredible that rain would have caused something like this.
Can you recall whether your radio would power up without the ignition on prior to this?
Sounds like something is grounding out. Check all electrical component connections to see if one is filled with water. Look closely at your lights - make sure one is not holding water. Check switches, controls and clean/ re-tighten ground connections on frame near battery.
Have you got anything wired directly off your battery ie. heated gear, amp etc? If so pull the fuse and see if that kills it.You might have a bad relay some where or the ign sw. is bad.Could be a pinched hot wire somewhere putting foreign batt.where its not supposed to be.

I dont get it either.the radio would not come on with the switch off before this

Checked connections, battery, under the fairing ect no real sign of water
well I unplugged the biketronics unit for the radio switches.Charged the battery and the gauge lights went off with the switch off.Start the bike everything is ok but the radio doesnt work with the unit unplugged. So it looks like the biketronics unit is bad but im still not sure why the gauge lights come on with the switch off. Guess im without the radio for now.

You really need to slow down and take a structured approach to this. The problems can seem irrational if you don't. Shut everything down and then slowly start up each service, ie connect everything and ensure all fuses are in, Radio On - Yes / No - well it shouldn't be until ignition is on. Follow the circuit and work through it. Water may be "wonderful" but it really cannot perform the electrically impossible. Believe and be structured - good luck

Not familiar with that particular amp, but many amps have a direct hot wire to the amp (constant hot - heavier gauge), with a second hot wire going to the key switched power. This allows an internal switch in the amp to turn on/off the power from the heavier gauge wire. A switch directly in the heavy gauge wire likely couldn't withstand the current drawn thru it.
Chances are the water shorted something in the amp unit, creating a "sneak" circuit back thru the heavier gauge wire.
I'd never trust that amp again, even after replacing it.
