I put a set of these on my wife's '99 Heritage several years ago, mainly to make the bike more noticeable to other motorists NAD because my wife liked the way they looked.
We rarely ride after dark so I couldn't tell you how much actual light they provide and I just sold the bike (with the lights on it) early this week.
A couple of issues;
If you have the Chrome Wind Deflectors, they may partially block the lights.
The power wire (white--?) was a very light gage wire IMO for the 30A fuse that came with the lights, but it seemed to work OK.
I am interested in where to find more info on the Motolights mentioned above??
thanks....this forum is great!
From one Brown to another, google is your friend! Simply go to www.motolight.com. Also try the Search function here, as I'm sure they will have been discussed before on HDF.
I am thinking about adding the engine guard mounted fog lights to my roadking.
Was wondering if anyone has put them on and if they really added enough extra light that made them worth the money. P/N 68913-98B.
I used to use them. They are not too bad in terms of light output but their bright reflection off the chrome fork lowers and windshield at night was distracting. They also made it harder to fit soft fairing lowers. I ended up taking them off and fitting HD's LED passing lamps instead. Much brighter and no annoying reflection off the forks and windshield. Later I fitted LED lights to mounts attached to my brake caliper bolts. They are bright as well.
