Anyone ever put the HD fog lights on there bike. Im thinking of putting them on my engine guard for 3 points of light. I know PIAA makes nice light, but there alot more expensive.
I've had 'em on for about 4 years. Lights the road pretty darn good. I would do it again.
Just a side note:
When doing the install drill the engine guard where you place the lights and run the wires "inside" the engine guard. This makes a much cleaner install than just using the zip ties to stick 'em on the engine guards.
Things Learned:
The included relay is rated for 35 amp. Most Piaa replacement bulbsare 55 ampsand will pop the relay.
not sure if i woudl pay all that $$$ just for HD lights though... you can get a much better light and clamp elsewhere... then do as said above... i put driving/fog lights on every bike i own... seeing is the most important thing!!!
I have the rectangular HD foglights on my engine guard. They are great. I would definitely do it again. Motolight makes good lights but they are a lot more spendy than HD.
Here's my fog lights on engine bars. I have seen a better way byuseing mounting pins from a windshield. Then you can use the light bar from a tour bike.
I installed a set of these and they work great. $12 at Walmart . You have to do some creative wiring and I bought the Harley switch and mount for the handlebars but still a lot cheaper in the end. Also you can get some clamps at the dealer for mounting them where you want. I recommend to get the customer accessory pigtail for about $18 at the dealer so you can connect the power for the lights directly to the wiring harness- it runs off the mostly unused 15 amp customer accessory circuit fuse.
