I just bought the snap ring (black)...popped right in, no other parts needed.

Question Headlight Bezel

Saw these on Ebay too and was thinking of trying it. Was worried about rocks hitting the headlight so was also considering the light armour sold by Cee Baiiley. Had this on a BMW LT and it worked pretty good - no cracks or breaks in 2 years. Likely a cheaper option than replacing the headlights

I bought the SE bezel in gloss black off of E-bay. Very easy install and I love the way it looks.

The lenses on the bikes with the bezel are apparently a hardened plastic. Too early to tell if those of us with the older lenses will have any real problems. I'm just being very careful when cleaning mine.

The part# for the matte black one for the FLTRX is 73250-10 & the discounted price from Zanottis was $6.93. The guy on ebay is ripping you off, he made up the #, similar to the # for the SERG. I looked it up in the parts book & got mine Monday, yes $6.93 + shipping.

I'm not sure this is true, as this earlier thread (which I just found) suggests that the 2010 part in indeed cheaper than the '09 gloss black version:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...ssembly-2.html - see reply #18 from "g money"

The 69987-09 part number appears to be real and is for the '09 SE application.

I think mine was ~$35 from Chicago HD and yes it just snapped in on an 09. Rode all last year like that with no rock / headlight problems, but I might just look into the clear plastic mentioned above as a precaution.

I installed the SE on my 08. It didn't fit quite right at the time. Didn't think about moving the headlights back. Right now it's just snapped in at the top and there is a bead of silicon holding the bottom in place. Easy to clean and has held up for over a year now.

The part # I gave you is for the 2010 FLTRX bezel the part # on ebay for the SERG gloss bezel is correct, he's selling it to you for retail, that's OK. The part # for the matte on ebay is the one that's made up, he's buying them for $7 & selling them for $29 or something like that, ripoff! He's not listing the correct part # so you can't look it up online, if you try to look up his part # it comes up as no such part. Always beware on ebay, he's making $20 plus on each one he sells, I got burned also on saddlebag mounting hardware, sounded like a good deal, found out I could have gotten it way cheaper from the dealer. You can never figure MOCO out, what you think should cost a couple $ is $50 & sometimes what you think will cost an arm & leg is only a few $, best to always check, that's why parts manuals are so valuable.
