Handlebar adjustment...
I got back from a 300 mile ride on my '09 ULTRA the other day and noticed that the handlebars were a little far forward for me. The regular bars are fine for me, they just need a little rollback. I did this on my '91 FLHS but it had no fairing. I hate to take it to the shop for this as I'm sure it will cost, but I'm not sure what has to come out to access the handlebar adjustment bolts. Does both the front and rear have to come off? Does the radio have to come out? I haven't had time to get a manuel yet. I know the money would be better spent on the manual, rather than the shop. I have read through the fairing removal thread and understand how to do it, I just can't see from the photos where the handle bars are...
I remember the handlebar cap had arrows pointing to the forward bolts on the metric bikes. Now I can't remember whether this meant 'first or last' to tighten but I do remember that either the front or back bolts had to be tightened last. Can anyone remember the reason for this, since it doesn't seem to be a concern nowadays?
