after much study on the 2 into 1's, i chose the vance & hines 2 into 1 pro pipe, for a few reasons. quality of the welds, quality of the chrome plating, price, and sound. but the main reason i wanted the 2 into 1 was for the increased torque, which this newer designed pipe delivers in spades.
the new design has very long primary tubes, promoting great low rpm torque, but it does not sacrifice power anywhere throughout the band.
Is this the ProPipe Chrome you're referring to? I've been looking at this one and giving consideration to swapping my FC for this one for no other reason than to try something different. It's been too long since my last exhaust swap. I'm an exaustaholic.
Don't under estimate a supertrapp, throaty low growl, tuneable, perfect fit doesn't burn your thigh like the older fatcat and also very light. My favorite pipe to date!
I like what I'm reading here, and elsewhere, about the Supertrapp. No decisions made at this time, may just stay with the Dresser Duals, but I want to thoroughly check out the 2 into 1 option.
I agree with Lucky Chuck. Just got my Bob back this morning with BR 2 into 1, power pak, and SE stage 1 ac. HUGE sound difference from my SE slip-ons. It was between BR and Thunderheader. IMO the BR has a lot better finish than my buddy's Thunderheader. They both sound awesome.

yes, i'm quite familiar with outpost harley even when it was across elizabeth from kmart, which is where i bougt a harley back in the nineties. back when the harley shop didn't dream of even having a dyno, when phil was the owner. then the clown who used to run a mc donalds bought the place and they moved up to the two story facility they now have a mile north. so yes, i do know exactly how friggin po dunk things can be. as far as you assuming that you tested every two into 1 system on every motor built, that would have taken a lot of time, which dealerships aren't too fond of doing without reaping some sort of benefit. just cause you say it, does not mean it's so. you're ego is sorta outrunning your ***, that's my thought, and if ya don't like it, i suggest you read my nickname backwards.
On my road king, I originally installed Hookers slip-ons. Having a bit of a do-it-yourselfer-attitidue, I welded a 41 mm freeze plug into my HD manifold, making it a 2:1 exhaust, with the left side as a falsie. While 10 years old, my bike still does 85 mph by itself. It flew with this set up.
Time passes (8 years), this winter's project was new paint and exhaust. I chose a ceramic black 2:1 thunderheader.
I have no fuel management system on my bike, so everything is seat of the pants. I've definitely lost some low end get up and go and I discovered a stumble at very high rpm. I believe a PCIII is in my future; ok by me because I'll be able to tune out a ping.
My only complaint with the thunderheader was the price - $778 was the absolute cheapest I could find it on the web.

Hate to rain on your parade, but I'm kinda thinking ur not sure who your debating against.
I have the Pro Pipe HO. I am happy with the sound and with the power gains. BUT, the quality of the powder coat is terrible! Very dull, scratches VERY easily. During the first 500-1000 miles of riding the oder from the oil inside the pipe and the powder coating heating up was terrible (almost like burning electrical). The pipe runs very hot and sits very close to the floor board.
On another note. A friend of mine recently purchased the same exhaust for his 2005 Electra Glide. It was poorly manufactured and wasn't close to fitting. He also noticed that the coating was very poor and scratched easily. He ended up sending it back and buying a thunder header 2 into 1.
