Default HELP - Black shiney plastic stuff????

I am relocating my oil temp gauge to the pan and will have to lengthen the wires. I have looked everywhere for some of that black, shiney, plastic wire conduit/flexable tubing to run the wires through and can't find it anywhere. The piece that is on there now is like the wires, too short! Anybody know where to get the stuff?????

(going back to work now, will check here later for what I know will be the answer I am looking for......yep, pressure is on guys....answers please)

I checked with two local (within 100 miles anyway) dealers, one didn't know where I could get it, the other only had 3 ft of it left. Thought I could find it somewhere else, but so far no luck. If somebody has a link, please share it!!

Dawg, is there a part number for the stuff?

Yes there is, based on the size. There is small stuff for like turn signal wiring and larger stuff for wiring harnesses. I'll get you some numbers a little later today.

Try your local radio shack or maybe hardware store for black shrink tube...you feed the wires into in then heat it a little with a hair dryer if you want a tight fit.

O.K. Dawg, and thanks. (I need the size for the 2 wire oil temp gauge wiring)

mhsmith451: Yeah I have thought of several different options, but the "black shiney stuff" blends in well with the frame, the dull colored heat shrink would stand out more. I may just run it up under the tank as some have done here, we'll see once I get started.

All three are part numbers for the stuff you want. It comes in a long roll, but the dealers should sell it by the foot as we do. Ask to see the three of them and pick the one that fits the best.
