Default Eyewear for Rain

I am just wondering what the best eyewear for rain is. What are your opinions? I generally don't have a helmet. If I had a full-face with me all the time, I would definitely wear it. Even with a half-shell, there must be something I can buy. I have often thought about just grabing my scuba mask out of my scuba kit, but I don't want to ruin that by having it stored on the bike.

Please don't turn this into a helmet/non-helmet thread.

Thanks.

I've actually seen someone wear a scuba mask. It was one of the stupidest things I've seen on a motorcycle.
Anyway, you need something that allows airflow or you'll have constant fog. Full face or snap-on shield work best but you need protection from those pointy drops and a foam seal that breathes so it keeps rain from running into your eyes but allows enough air to keep fog from forming. Nothing really does that perfectly but my Wiley-x glasses come close.

i wear my oakleys during the day, as i need polarized lenses in the sun... if not i get bad headaches.

MSA safety glasses from Home Depot, Lowes.. etc for cloudy weather, night and rain. $5.00. i give them a coating of my favorite liquid wax, or rain-x. they work excellent.

I always have a pair of safty glasses for night riding and the MSA ones are great. I have about 5 pairs in my shop just in case. The problem with them and all "glasses" is the fact that the water gets in front and behind.

I may just have to buy a cheap scuba mask to keep with me. I know with some sea drops or toothpaste I can keep them from fogging. I like to see where I am driving until I can get somewhere to stop and wait.

http://www.kroopsgoggles.com/

kroops makes goggles that we use for skydiving, and they are similar to what i used in the military. they do not fog, but they are kinda like birth control glasses. they make many many different types, and most have anti fog vents.

i'll have to try mine in the rain on the scoot.

edited to add.... PS.. they are pretty damn cheap. $7-10.00 a pair.

If I'm going on a trip that might have rain I bring my FF helmet. If I just get caught in the rain I switch to my goggles. But no way can I ride a long distance in the rain without a FF helmet.

I read somewhere that if you wear sunglasses in the rain your supposed to be able to see better but I really can't vouch for that. I normally wear saftey glasses but have a hard time with them. I gotta find something though so will be watching this thread.

I saw some in hot bike or baggers called second face, they cover your face, looked pretty neat, could keep them in your bags, worth a look.

I have a 3" shield and I always were goggles. What works best for me in the rain is to carry a clean shop towel in my lap. This way I can wipe my face and goggles now and then... Keeps things clear.
