i don't think i have ever seen a complaint about the sundowner seat. it seems to fit the old guy crowd from what i have seen in our area. it is a roomy, comfortable seat. hd pricing though. if buying an hd seat buy it from one of the biggies with 10-20%off over the internet. try to bag free shipping also.
I can't; for the life of me, understand why people send the money they do, on aftermarket seats.
Why not find a good reliable upholster and have the existing seat "redone"?
The upholster; if he's good, will check out your DAD sitting on the bike and make the proper recommendations on form density, seat slope etc, and then redo the existing frame.
Far better to do this then "experiment" with after market seats.

i've got a good reason! as sad as it is for me to say, my lower back has tons of issues, so i had to move from the stocker, which was fine for my a$$, but didn't have the option for a driver backrest.
Ya know...a seat is a difficult thing to buy for someone else. They're almost a personal thing to buy, cause everybody is built differently & sits a scoot a little different. What is comfortable for one may be awful for someone else. Why not do a gift certificate or cash card telling him it's for a new seat of his choice. Just saying...........
