MoCo Accessories - Poor
And that makes Harley's overpriced garbage???? I'll bet the percentage of aftermarket parts that doesn't fit is very small, compared to the amount sold.
First of all, I do not refer to myself as shlongman (sic). I have been dubbed schlongman by others. Secondly, I might otherwise be offended by your slight on my intellence but anyone who would choose to live 45 degrees north latitude is obviously lacking any good sense himself.

I generally try to avoid buying accessories from the moco.many of them are just repackaged and marked up,and can be obtained from the original manufacturer for less, especially as the bike ages.I was also Disappointed in a couple of Screaming eagle accessories, one being the single plated fork brace the chrome fell off of every time a bug hit it,thing was trash in 6 months.the other was the air cleaner that puked oil out of the bottom, because of the way they ran the breather hoses.they changed the design, and offered me the option of paying another 100 or so bucks for the redesigned backplate.
I've never seen nicer chrome than on Harley's and the bikes just run. Saying that, I don't do my own mods because I don't have the patience or mechanical inclination, but I do love the bikes. I just make sure mine stays clean and gets its scheduled maintenance and the rest takes care of itself. If there is a problem, or if a mod is needed, I know there are others out there much more qualified than I am to get the job done.
To get technical, Harley's products from the P&A catalog are not aftermarket. They are OEM.
With so much outsourcing going on, I have found Harley accessories to be pretty much hit-or-miss. Some have been spot-on excellent, and others cheaply made. But this is true of most American manufacturers these days. It's just how it is.
I recommend stopping by a dealership to try and find the Harley accessory you are interested in already mounted on a new or used bike for sale before ordering it. This has saved me a couple of times because what looks good in the catalog can really be junk close up.
And as far as Harley MotorClothes go ...
I really wanted to buy a Harley leather jacket, but after checking them out up close and seeing those "Made in Pakistan, China, etc" labels, I just couldn't do it.
Harley logo or not, I went with the American made Fox Creek Leather jacket instead.
I know a huge part of my Road King - including all the steel! - came from China, but something about a classic American motorcycle jacket made in China on my back just hit too close to home this time.
Maybe I'll just get a Chinese made Harley patch instead.

this looks like another sign that the yuppies dun took over. i like my "overpriced piece of garbage". if you don't like your harley, you know you can get a yamaha, kawasaki, etc, and you might be quite happy with that hong kong piece of crap. damm man, get a friggin clue. harleys aren't perfect, but they're the best that are available, and that's good enough for me.
