I have been trying to figure out why my mufflers were quiet and the bike was sluggish, it was because i had a air leak at the connection where the muffler met the header it wiggled its way out hence killed the backpressure. now she growls again
Also will the auto tune smooth out the rpm range it does seem to jump a little bit during idle and will i see any improvements over the power spectrum?
I had the same thing happen to me when I was running slip ons . After I fixed the problem , I immediately noticed a power improvement . I wasn't having a vibration issue , so , I can't help with that .
in a word, "no" a good dyno tune will draw power out of your motor by using the pcv you've got. the auto tune is okay, but sort of like canned maps. nothing can compare to a precision tune on a dynometer. it's that big of a difference.
Depends on what you intend to accomplish. A good many of us that have the AT kit like to play with the AFR's to achieve better MPG in the cruise range.
The AT kit will keep your motor in perfect tune....as long as the timing is set correctly, and the AFR's you demand are reasonable.
However, if you are happy with your tune and your MPG the way it is, I would say don't mess with it.
No AT will not help at idle as Dynojet recommends not inserting AFR's into the 0% throttle column in the AT tables. At idle fuel will strictly be determined off the basemap. You can try adding or subtracting some fuel from the basemap in the 0% column with the software you already have though. May help a bit and won't hurt a thing. Try + or - 5 to 10 %
the only reason for getting it on the dyno would be to squeeze the last bit of power out of the motor through efficiency. you already know that you can run two maps in your pcv, right? you just use a two position switch that allows you to use one map for power and around town hooliganism if that's a word, and the other map for fuel economy while touring. best of both worlds that way. glad you got her running right. i had no luck with the canned maps on my bike with the pcv, but i didn't have it long enough to give it a chance either.
Well i could use some better mpg i think i lost about anywhere from 3-6 mpg but i think i will pick one up since i am not sure if i am done with all mods in the future and the bike will tune itself close enough to keep the motor healthy
