Wasn't sure how to title this post. A buddy of mine has an Ultra Classic. He can put her on cruise and take his hands off the bars and just cruise along. My 02 RK won't do that. No cruise, but tightening down the throttle lock and letting go makes the bike veer left. I have to lean everything right in order to ride. Something wrong with the bike, or am I just not sitting square on her?
GearGrinder's "tip" of the day. Take a carpenter's level and set your bike perfectly level on a level hard surface while dismounted. Let go of the bike, if it falls left it will steer left and vice versa. Do this several times so it can't be disputed. Then make sure that you are OK by measuring your legs and arms to make sure that each pair are equal lengths and weights. This will indicate if you are a well balanced individual like me.

P.S. Then private email me, I need some parts.

My Ultra tracks straight! but I only release my hands from the bars for a few seconds at a time. and not while I am cruise control. but it doesn't even offer to pull left. if it did I would sell it

I've never had a HD pull to the left unless there was a strong wind blowing me that way. I'd have it checked. My Road Glide rides great with the cruise on. I usually rest the palm of my hand on the front brake reservoir and steer with my body or an occasional leg swung out in the breeze.

I realize this thread is a little old, but here's one I haven't seen, so I wanted some input. I have an 01 Heritage Springer that likes to turn RIGHT. I have to lean pretty hard left to get it to run straight with no hands. I've done all of the alignment suggestions and can't find anything wrong. Any ideas? Thebike only has 8000 miles and has never been down thatI can tell. I justbought it.

Mine runs straight mile after mile with the cruise on. I usually drive the six miles from my house to the main road like that to avoid speeding tickets.
