5K- All 3 holes- Mobil 20W50 Synthetic. Engine is dark brown, tranny is like new, clutch primary is greyish..

i have the fluids changed beginning of the ridding season even if it less then 5,000 miles and then 5,000 miles thereafter using synthetic

 

Here I do the changes of the fluids around 6,000 miles and I use synthetic oil.

(no more than 5k, usually less, all 3 - Redline in all 3)

 

we change oil because it gets dirty. dino or synthetic makes no difference. syn hold up to heat better and has uniform molecules so it flows easier.

 

And now ....... drum roll please ....... the correct answer so you can cut and paste in all these oil threads and maybe several other threads ......
"I CHANGE IT WHENEVER I FEEL LIKE IT BECAUSE IT'S MY MOTORCYCLE AND MY MONEY!" A lot of you will feel better if you just do the same and quit worrying about what everyone else is doing. The service manual from HD has a recommendation as does the info from the oil companies, but many obviously don't believe the large companies so they resort to info from anonymous people on an internet forum. And we wonder where the world is headed ......

+1 riding in the car doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling like riding my Bike.
