My front motor mount has been oil soaked, cleaned with brake clean and still good at 37,000 but did find that the upper mounts that go into the head were loose!

This is an interesting thread. I have an '05 with about the same mileage and have a pretty bad vibration, too. It's not the fairing. It's much worse than when it was new but the mount looks good. Mine smooths out a little underway but not too much.

Any possibility it's in the wheels (bearings/spokes), tires (tread/weights), brakes, clutch, etc???

Found this on an earlier search of this problem : The newer mount is a much harder compound than the early versions, and this new mount will increase the felt vibrations on the bike. The new mounts were beefed up to reduce deterioration from oil contamination, which sometimes occurs during oil changes. If you prefer the softer feel of the early mounts, you can purchase a BUELL motor mount, part number L0501.2, which is the same part as the early touring model mounts. If you use the Buell mount, it installs exactly like your old one, and in the same upright orientation.
