I swapped out my bars today and am literally ten minutes from done and am stuck dead cold in the water! I cannot get the ignition switch to reinstall. I have followed the manual procedure a dozen times. It just won't go. What is the secret?
Bike is an 08 Road Glide. At one point when adjusting the bars, the forks locked when I cranked the bars all the way left. this was after the switch had been removed obviously. I was able to get the switch partially in and unlock the forks at that point but didn't really think anything about it except I was glad my forks weren't stuck locked. I went about the rest of the job and got to almost the last thing which is the switch install now this. Switch goes in halfway but won't go the rest of the way.
Can anybody help?

Search this forum for ignition switch reinstall. The answer will include a broad blade screwdriver and a small flashlight. Don't ask me how I know.
