OK, I finally got the bars adjusted like I want them. But on the reinstall of the ignition I must not have set it in correctly, so now I don't get the correct clicking when turning the switch. It just spins. Also, I locked the forks and they do not unlock. When I try to pull the switch off, I cannot get it to come up, even though the lock must be in the in position based on the tab at the bottom being pushed in.
I had a similar problem when I changed the front suspension. Was driving me nuts trying to get it aligned right. My brother found this video and it worked great. I even saved it for any future work. Memory does work as good as the pc
the tab underneath is part of it, you also have to turn the key to the left PAST the position for fork lock.
once you have it off, you can look at the bottom and you'll see how this 2 stage latch works for the next time.
look at the shaft, you will see that the tabs are almost shaped like an arrow..., you can then use a screw driver to turn the internal cams to match, then try again.
