Moving passenger backrest back?
I have an 08 SG with a tallboy seat and the harley detachacble pass backrest and pad. Is it possible to move the pad back and additional 1 or 2 inches? Can I get a new offset sissy bar or something? I would like to have some more room riding with my ole lady.

you can move the back mount down to the lower hole which under where it is now mounted... this angels the backrest back about 2 1/2 " at the pad....the only problem is if your luggage rack is attached to the backrest it slopes it down pretty bad, had to remove mine or move the license plate

I just walked back in the house from doing mine. I drilled a hole between the rear mounting hole and the one below it. it angled the back rest back about 1 1/4". I think it worked out perfect.

I wish this would work without angling the rack...harleygoodies has either new brackets or the whole backrest but it is very expensive.

It doesn't angle the backrest too far, just enough for a little extra room. The top of the backrest moves back about an inch, the angle changes a degree or so, not really noticeable. Here is the bracket with the additional hole drilled:
