I agree. Start from the ground up. I have finally cured bottoming out on my bike, by fitting superior shocks. Only after the ride quality is improved is it worth considering a seat. Give Howard at HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal a call and talk through custom shocks tailored to suit you both.
My wife and I did a 2,500 mile tour last year and she had had enough shortly after halfway. This year we did a similar trip with our Ohlins and she was fine through the whole trip, on the same Corbin seat. She calls our suspension upgrade "an unqualified success"!
Yup, yup. Suspension 1st, seat later if needed. Why spend $ on a seat until you know whether or not what the real culprit is? JMHO
Be careful, very very careful shopping for seats. I went shoppin for a bettter seat for her on my low rider and low and behold the one i found was attached to a EGC. LOL. now i gots best of both, a dyna and a bagger. then i had meancitycycle make both seats right for me.
I gave up on trying to find a seat that my wife liked. Bought a mustang (which I like) and had an upholsterer modify her section with 1 inch of cross-gel and 1 inch of memory foam. Dang thing feels like it has pudding inside it, but she's happy.

I have the corbin seat and lowered 1" so like the other guys said starting with the suspensionis a good idea.My girlfriend has back problems also and the other day i put about 30 lbs in the rear shocks and that seemed to help her alot.Plus i am sending the seat off too Mean city cycles to have them work on it and see if that will help her also.
