I have a '09 Street Glide, an after market amp,and the dreaded B2017 (everything works but no sounds). I solved my problem by turning the ignition to accesory with the radio off....wait a minute....turn on radio...play for a minute & turn off. Then start bike and turn on radio. Everything works great. So far so good. I guess it gives the radio time to recognize the amp?

Could be an amp, but usually only part of the issue if at all. If vibration damage exists on the board, replacing the amp will mask it temporarily by heating the affected traces. It will eventually resurface. This is why you're radio is now working again. Removing / reinstalling the unit will flex the board enough to allow the traces to contact resulting in the reappearance of the audio. The installation of an anti-vibration mod is also key to prevent the re-occurrence. The factory...and by extension the refurb facility..has made attempts at stabilizing the board, but in our opinion, do not go far enough. Our vib mod has had significantly more success.

Howdy, My dad's bike (2008 flhx) has the b2017 code. It worked two days ago, then we put new bars internally wired on & tah dah the speakers don't work. My question is this: Would this code show if a wire in the handle bars was shorting or pinched? All the switches on the hand controls work fine. Also the right vertical bracket was broken. Thanks in advance, I feel like crap because I told him the bars swap was easy & now this.

Thanks ICA. Dealer wouldn't let him just bring the stereo down. Had to ride it down, so they could take it apart, say it's jacked, order a new one 2-3 weeks, put it together. I wonder why a new bike cost 30k. It's under warranty though. Thanks again.

Having issues with the sound after starting....sometimes there is no audio. I have to shut off the bike and restart several times for it to work. I have an external amp on my 2010 flhx and was wondering if this is a amp or head unit issue? Sound works prior to starting and this issue occurs about 20% of the time.

I realize I am brand new here and already begging for help but it would be greatly appreciated. My 06 Ultra HK radio is displaying error code B2006 after I do the diao check on it. The volume adjust works just fine but when I push in the Audio button in I cant get my bass, treb, fade......settings to display. Does anyone have any idea what I can try to fix the problem?
