Yeah, I replaced the TP sensor already, but no luck. I absolutely hate having someone else do work on my vehicles. If i have to buy a tuner to fix this, I will. I just don't want to go into something like this blind and not get the best thing for the job.
I hate saying this but try to do a search on the issue. Tons of threads and you might find something. I got nothing right now.
Unfortunately, I've been searching for info on this for a week. I've even taken the rest of this week off of work to track this down and fix it. For what it's worth, I really appreciate the time and help.
Yeah, I replaced the IAC last week after cleaning it didn't help. After that didn't fix it, I started scouring the interwebs for more info. Then I ordered the Throttle position sensor and put it in today. The problem is still there.
You've covered the IAC, TP, and checked the items suggested in the SB (idle screw position, etc.). The only thing that I can think of that remains is a fuel-pressure loss. The internal fuel hoses are known to leak and produce a pressure loss, and if bad enough can affect performance. Sometimes it's so bad you can hear it (hissing noise) and see the swirling gas in the tank as it is ejected from the fuel lines. Check that next, which may involve a connecting a fuel-pressure gauge to the line.
When I was having my idle and misfiring issues, which ended two years ago when I changed the TPS, I checked the fuel system thoroughly. The hoses weren't leaking, but the juncture between the FPR and pump had warped and fuel pressure was leaking there. I replaced the FPR and hoses, but although that wasn't causing the symptoms it would've caused trouble eventually.

While you are in there change the crappy lines to a 5/16 submersible line. Here is a good thread on the subject with pics.
I did notice that when turning the ignition on and the system primes by drawing fuel, it sounds a lot louder than normal. Also, the bike is hissing and spitting when it dies. I'm assuming that I can rev it because the suction at higher RPM's is stronger than the leak. As far as I can tell, the problem is only getting worse.
Now off to buy a fuel pressure gauge.........any suggestions?
I would pull the pump out and take a look. The correct gauge is pricy. You should be able to see if some think isn't correct. First remove the fuel cap with the bike off and look in the tank as you turn the ignition switch on. If you see a lot of fluid splashing chances are you have a pin hole in the line or a bad o ring on the regulated. Filter service interval is 20k.
don't know if this is your problem and I did not read all of the post. this is what fixed mine with high and low idle spit back and such. pressure regulator in the tank. mine is 07 sg. $93.81 and no more problem. labor was 52.50 this was done 8/16/12 and I'm a happy fellow. hope this helps and good luck.
