Pulled the Maxi-fuse (finally found out where it is) and left it out, while I disconnected my positive cable at the starter, to check for a loose connection (per service manual), seemed fine. Put the Maxi-fuse back in, hit the starter, and she fired right up? What gives? Seems like I reset the ECM? Rode it for 2 hours after, not a glitch? Idle was fine throughout. Any ideas?
This could be an entirely different issue. I had what you're describing and it turned out to be the quick disconnect fuel line coupler. It would crank, no start. If I left it for 20 min or so, started right up. one of the times it wouldn't start i pushed up on the fuel line into the coupler and it started right up. It was either vapor lock or something with the coupler.

Took the bike to the dealer today, had a fuel pressure test performed and it showed a problem. The hoses inside the tank had a pin hole, had them replaces along with the filter ($325). The bike feels a little different for the better and the idle was real steady. I hope this solves the stalling at idle problem. Time will tell.

OK, now I have to join the club. I have been having intermittent low idle and high idle issues so yesterday I changed the IAC. Also did a throttle cable adjustment. First cold start the bike jumped to about 1800-2000 so I immediately shut it down. Second start it idled perfect, warmed up and ran great. Rode it to work to day and this morning it ran great. On the way home it started idling rough and speed was going up and down, low of about 1600 and it would hit 1800 at times - dragging the clutch a bit would bring it down, but it would jump right back up again as soon as I pulled the clutch all the way in.

Made it home, shut it down with the ignition switch and tried starting again. Idled perfectly. WTF. I checked the throttle cable adjustment when I initially did it and it's fine - can turn the bike lock to lock and no pulling, idle doesn't change - throttle snaps back to idle just fine.

So, brand new IAC, I don't think I pinched the o-ring when I installed it - it went in easily. Didn't see any loose or broken lines or wires under there - I had the tank off when I did the IAC.

Thoughts? I am running a PCIII with a map for the stock AC, stock AC and Rush 1.75 inch slipons. Bike normally runs great except for the intermittent low and recently high, idle issues. I changed the IAC because of the low idle issues but what controls or makes it idle high?

thanks in advance.

The ecm tells the IAC how from what the IAT (Intake air temperature sensor),ET (engine temperature sensor) and TP (throttle position sensor) tells it

Doesnt the speed sensor play into that as well?

Then change the TPS it is - thanks for the tips, appreciate it. I'll pick one up on the way home tomorrow. I have a shop manual but for the sake of laziness I'll ask here is it located on the throttle body?

If facing the TB it is mounted on the left side of the throttle shaft. 2 Torx screws and about 20 minutes of your time.
