I am using the new SE ac kit. It's a dry oil less filter. The oil is definitely coming from the vent tubes. I am already looking into changing the oil venting tube location. I am going back to the stock air cleaner set up for now.

Cool. Thats a good filter. Look into the DK Outlaw backing plate with open breathers. There are others as well. Oil in the intake leads to coking of the cylinders along with other issues.
I know to much oil is bad, but wasnt sure what was "normal". I had no idea that it was that bad. Is it ok to clean the IAT sensor? I will be cleaning the throttle body tonight. Would you agree with the TPS being the cause of my low speed/stop stalling?
If you drop it back to idle and the TPS is not working, I am sure it could cause your problem. I think it will also cause it to flair 200-300 rpm higher then it should idle on start up. The TPS however is an easy check with a resistance meter to determine if it's bad. I also think if it were this, it would throw a code.
On your other post,
Just my thought and based on my Harley and my 2005 Yamaha V-Star1100. Obviously your still running the full backing plate with the gasket to actually catch the oil. How long did it take to accumulate? My Harley has the open SE type filter and so it does not build up. Like I say I see spots above 65-70 in a 100 miles. I see little at 55. My Yamaha has the OEM system that actually has a 4" long hose hanging down to drain the filter. I did the first PM at 10K on the bike. I had never drained the hose and did not even notice it till I pulled cover (it's not even mentioned in the OEM service manual) There was a good 2 oz or more in there. The bike has dual carbs and I balanced them. Interesting that you cannot use a typical vacuum gage. As designed, and I assume the Harley is the same way, the design makes the vacuum gage bounce like a yo-yo. I made up a two tube balancing system with the two tubes filled with heavy oil. If you have good compression, I would not be concerned. That is not from too much oil in tank or sumping. It's from blow by and at high speed most all Harleys do it. However, you see how little goes into the throttle body. My guess is even if you took the hoses and vented them too the outside, you would have see the same condition from a little spit-back from the injectors being so close to the butterfly.

RIpshaw,
I get the low idle then stall when coming to a stop more frequently than i get the high rough idle when coming to a stop. I also get occasional stall when pulling in the clutch and letting off the throttle to up or down shift at any speed.
The oil accumulation took approximately 5 months.
I am thinking that cleaning the entire throttle body area including the IAT sensor with a rag, Q-tips and throttle body cleaner will help.
Do you have the procedure and numbers for testing the TPS? I didn't realize that I needed the electrical manual to test it. I only have the service manual.
Soft 02,
I agree with you. I am going to go back to the stock air cleaner until I get a different breather set up. I need to fix the stalling problem too.

On my 07 he high idle shows up periodically. I clean the air filter ( it's a K&N) and it goes away. Weird. Thinking it has something to with negative pressure trying to suck through a dirty filter, ECM compensates.
Away, that's been my fix. No re flashes, no carb cleaner in the TB.
Soft 02,
I can't view the pic. I will create my own breather system. Being a prototype tool designer and machinist I like making my own parts when I can.
Throttle body was coated with oil. I use a rag and Q-tips soaked with throttle body cleaner and cleaned the entire inside until it was back to the clean aluminum finish. I put the stock air cleaner assembly back too. Since this problem has only occurred on rides over an hour it will be a while before I know if the problem is fixed.
