Default There's a 2010 listed for $21k at our local dealership...

hubby actually test drove it about a month ago.....

If I offered $18k out the door do you think there'd be a chance? Anyone with tips?

FLHR [standard w/hard bags] Sunglo Red, LACED PROFILE WHEEL, CRUISE, ABS, SECURITY, RHINEHART EXHAUST, RACE TUNER AND BREATHER

Doesn't have the chrome luggage rack and backrest for me....not a big deal...

Thanks so much!! I didn't want to start a new thread [already feel like a hog].

assuming it would have ABS right? any concerns? I know police aren't as popular so cheaper resale...
I don't think ABS was STANDARD on Police bikes either. A local guy sells a lot of them, and im pretty sure that he's had some of the identical bike, same year, both with and without ABS.

Also, be aware the ABS on the pre-08 cop bikes was an entirely different system, and the controller/plumbing eats up about a third of the space in the right saddlebag. Its not all tucked under the side cover like it is now.

better chance than if you don't offer, but I wouldn't thing there'd be a real good chance of that. good luck though.

I know ABS was not "standard", but when I bought my '10 ultra it came with ABS, Cruise and Security. I don't think there was an ultra or limited on the floor that didn't have ABS, could just be that most people didn't want it and they sold out of them already. But for me, it seemed to be pretty standard for a non standard upgrade.

It can happen when you don't know what to look for and someone just tells you its there.

Case in point, just a few weeks a go, a guy I know bought a used 08 SG, we're setting there looking at it and he mentions ABS to another guy. I said, hate to tell you Joe but your new ride doesn't have ABS and promptly showed him the difference.

My thoughts, if you don't know if your bike has ABS then it probably doesn't

Side Note: some HD Dealer salesmen don't know if a bike has ABS !

Last January I was at Seacoast HD - NH looking at a 2010 FLTRX, and the price sticker said the bike had ABS with the added $ 815 (?) fee. I said to the salesman this bike doesn't have ABS, he's say How do you know that ?, and I said there's no wire going down the left fork to run it. and get this ---- he says - OH (?!) & with a pause says- the handle bar sticker price is just there to give you an idea of the cost of the bike !!! My thoughts were - F Him, they're hoping the buyer is a sleep and going to grab the extra $$ if possible .... I could be wrong -maybe - but I still won't go back there. They're either real lazy not to have the sticker read right, or looking for something for nothing. -idiot sales staff - end rant ...

I bought my "09" SG from a guy on craigslist and when I ask him if it had ABS, he did not know if it had it or not. I told him how to tell by looking for the wires running down the left front fork and he went to check. Sure enough it had ABS. Some people only know how to hit the start button and go.

Just curious, but does anyone here prefer a bike without ABS? If so, why?
Thanks
