Default clutch issues....please help

ok fellas, im kind of in a bind. I just spent the money for new bars (klockwerks ergo) and a new painted inner fairing the tech said i needed a new clutch cable so i got one of those too. My issue is when i left the shop i was feeling kinda froggy so i banged through the first three gears and i noticed that it felt like the clutch was engaging from 4k-5200. Like it jumped up real fast without me going any faster. So i turned around and took it right back to the shop. The guy who owns the shop says..."sounds like you need a new clutch" and i told him maybe it just needs a little adjusting. I took it back there and jim bob did a little adjusting but it still wasnt right. So i took it apon myself to go home and do a clutch cable adjustment per the hd manual spec. I took my time (2hrs) and got it done. It doesnt feel as sloppy now but its still there. Is there a way i can tighten it up a little and save what clutch i do have?

I have to admit, this has happened before and when i got my engine work done at the harley shop and i explained the same symptoms to the tech and when i got it back it pulled like a freight train.

Is my issue inside the derby cover where the screw is held by that lock washer? the book specified turning it a half to a full turn. is this my issue? if not, how can i fix it?

Sounds like an internal adjustment to me. Yes behind the derby cover. Break the clutch cable all the way down, remove derby cover, use an 11/16 socket to loosen retaining nut, use allen wrench and turn in (clockwise) untill it stops turning, (not tight, just starts to catch), back off 1/2 turn and tighten lock nut. Make sure the allen stays put while tightening, use a crows foot if you have one. Re-adjust cables per manual and you shoulf be all set.
