Just curious how important free shipping is for everyone making online purchases. Does the shipping cost determine whether you buy from one company over another?

Shipping doesn't matter as much as total price including shipping...

 

For me...it's a combination of overall price (item + shipping), reliability of the company, and quickness to ship. I've paid more for items when they promise to ship within 24hrs. I've paid less and gotten notices a week after I ordered that they do not have the item in stock and do not know when they can ship. I never order from those companies again.

Doesn't really answer the question, but IMHO, Free Shipping is a great way to get focus on your companies website. Free is always good advertising.

 

well i like it..some sellers pad the shipping cost w/ handling etc..

 

I look for the total price and how good of dealer they are.

 

I don't need a $200.00 part marked down to $160.00 and then charge $35.00 shipping. Its all about best to the door price along with reputable seller. I also like to be able to track shipping.

 

door to door total cost & delivery date are all taken into consideration - then decision is made

Free shipping only factors in if the price is more than a competing dealer.

 

something small it doesnt really matter but something large it really matters...
