Searched and searched for what I think is the right exhaust system for me. I knew that cat. converter had to go. I wanted to stay with the single pipe like the 2010 models are designed. So after hearing several sound clips and having heard positive info on this forum, I went with the new V & H Pro Pipe. Man, what a pipe. They rock! Now, I like a pipe that you can ride loud or you can ride 'em quiet. You can't really ride these quiet, but you can keep 'em down to a dull roar.
Also did a Stage 1, race tuner and had it dynoed. The dyno numbers came out 72 H.P. and 85 ft. lb. torque at the rear wheel. I don't really know how that stacks up to others, but I think it's about a 20% improvement over stock. Anyway, I like the way sounds and the added horses.
congrats on the new exhaust. where are you finding sound clips at? i just picked up a 2010 road glide and will be shopping for an exhaust soon. i want something quiet at idle, but sounds wicked when you get on it. any suggestions? what other 2 into 1 pipes did you look at?
D & D has the Fatcat. That's the only other 2-1 I checked into. Really, the Pro Pipe at idle is not all that loud. Louder than stock of course. But when you roll that throttle, "wicked" is a good way to describe it.
You can hear sound clips by going to you tube and doing a search for "Road Glide exhaust sound bytes" and I think you will find several.
Congrats on your new bike and good luck in your search for the new exhaust system.
