Bluetooth Option?
I agree,,,,,I ride to get away from EVERYTHING! I do not have a radio on my bike nor do I listen to a MP3 player. I have to listen to a radio everyday I go to work,,,,,the last thing I want to listen to is a radio on my bike...sorry for the rant!
I get great pleasure from the fact that I can't answer a phone call while on my bike. It's the one place I can escape to without interuptions.
Alot of us could care less ifYOU want to have the option, or why you feel YOU don't need it.
Back to our regularly scheduled topic..........
A buddy has the MotoCo option installed and is quite pleased with it.(Even without the headset in use you still can see who called through the display on the radio face and decide if you need to stop andreturn the call).
I use a B150 bluetooth headset made by BlueParrot( www.blueparrott.com. ) in the cage, truck or on the bike. Which works out quite well for my needs on the bike sinceI just toss the cell in one of my windshield pouches and if it rings I can gab it and see via its screen ifI want to take the call or not.(But it is nice to have that option of deciding)
Before using the headset,I used to keep the phone on vibrate and in a inner pocket soI would know when a call was received, and sometimes whenI would stop later to check and return that call...NO SERVICE..... gots to love mountian riding.
The sales rep from Cardo rides a bagger with super traps and says he talks all day going up to 100 (he wears a closed face though). It works awesome on my Arai helmet. The unit will sync with the Garmin and Tom Tom Gps systems that are buetooth as well. The teamset includes an extra module that works as a short range wireless intercom, pretty trick for those of you riding with passengers. Check out our post in the vendor section in case anyone wants to try it out. We did the motorola HS830 previously which can't hold a candle to the Cardo... BTW

Hey fellas, I couldn't help but read the posting on people looking at the bluetooth options available to riders. I work for one of the vendors on hdforums, who is a distributor of the Cardo Scala lineup of products. They are a bluetooth headset for motorcycle helmets that clamps on to the shell. The bluetooth module itself is a snap off, so if you leave your helmet on the bike you can take the module with you. The sound quality is great with open face helmets since it utilized a directional noise cancelling microphone. I know most us roll open face lids, and this setup is good to 65-70 with little or no wind noise.

I have a Samsung BlueTooth compatible phone I carry in my shirt pocket & the Scala synchs to that.

PS: good post SteelCityScooter, I agree 100%
I too was having trouble with the volume not being loud enough. I had the volume maxed out on the phone setting. The tech at the dealership asked it I also had the volume on the intercom turned up.I had it turned up just enough to be able to have a conversation with my wife, or daughter while riding. He suggested that I try turning the intercom volume up more. Although I thought that was nuts and didn't make any sense, I tried it. Well low and behold, it helped. So if your volume isn't loud enough, you might try that.

phone synches with zumo, zumo synches with blue tooth here. works good butat higher speeds with open or no helmet its anoying and even just cruising Ive found I either ignore calland would rather enjoy the road instead of makeing or answering the phone. Just a toy I had to play with. imo
Hubby and I have been considering getting a Zumo (Hubby works in a service industry so we can use it for his business and the bikes) and are debating if we want the bluetooth. I really don't want to answer phone calls but I wouldn't mind a bit of music.
When I am not on call the phone is normally off and just the music on my radio and the comm to my wife who is a new rider on her own bike. But I do wish I could blue tooth my Zumo to the radio because I can store a ton more music on it than the MP3 CD. I do have the blue tooth kit installed but it will not pair with the Zumo.
Anyone know where I can find a manual for the HK blue tooth kit? Maybe I am just missing something?
