I have it and I don't see any difference with it or without it. I kept it on the bike because it's chrome otherwise it would have made a nice ashtray for my garage. <g>
What I noticed was that it added about 10 mph to the speed the buffeting comfort range. That was good for me because it raised the buffeting from 65mph to 75mph where I spend most of my highway riding.
The black one is only $12. I think it looks better on a Vivid black bike.
I recommend using a shield from customflhshields.com
if you are thinking in that direction, they are about 4"
wider and come in different heights and tints, I LOVE MINE!!!
Its .net vs. .com but anyway, I got one of these to put on my 102 CI Yamaha with Batwing Fairing a few years back and it made a big difference. Mine needed a bit of modification but i provided measurements and they did the modificatoins. Great service and can't say enough about these folks. I had lost the link and couldn't remember the name of the company because i wanted to get another. I plan on getting another to add on duing the chillier months. That extra inch or two on either side really helps a lot.
I'd like to try the fork baffles but I've heard they don't clear the lowers on an Ultra. Anyone know of a solution for that (or an aftermarket fork baffle that clears)? Thanks - Bob
The fork baffle(1 pc) fits between the forks and wont bother your lowers. The lower fork air deflectors(2 pcs) that mount on the outside of the forks will prevent the adjustable fairing wings from flipping around all the way, so they can be trimmed to allow them to flip around, that what I done. They come very close to the lowers but they just need to be bent by hand a little to keep them from touching the lowers.
Bought a set of the chrome fork deflectors...Put um' on....Took it out on the super slab for a test and couldn't wait to get em' off. Bike was unstable at cruising speed (70 & above). They worked good under 60 MPH. Wasted money in my case.
