Okay guys.... I am having a hard time deciding on exhaust. Always thought I wanted Black Rinehart True Duals but im not so sure anymore. Been reading a lot on here about 2:1 being better and about a lot of people liking the Fatcat 2:1.
What does everyone like and why? Will definitely be black
I have the new style V&H Pro Pipe on my 2010 Street Glide. It is a great looking pipe and it sounds absolutely wicked. It comes in Chrome and Black, your choice. Like others have mentioned, I understand the engine performs better with a 2-1 exhaust. And the 2010 S.G.'s come with a 2-1 exhaust, so I wanted to stay with it. Kinda specific to the 2010's.
What year bike you have?
Where do you like the noise level?
Do you rank performance number one?
This will help others as they chime in.
Its on 07 SG Pearl Black Stock Engine
I like sound but also dont want to have the neighbors bitching at me when I come home later at night
Wouldnt say performance is number one definitely want a good looking pipe too. Kind of bothers me that the Fatcat covers the 6-speed cover but not a deal breaker at all
If it were me, I'd cross off the true duals and look at a 2-1-2 setup if you want the dual look. I'd then consider the Fatcat or some of the many good performing 2-1-2 setups available based on the sound and look you want. The performance difference between a good 2-1 vs a good 2-1-2 setup will be marginal and you may only be able to tell the difference on a dyno and not by your butt. Check out Fuel Moto as they have several posted dyno sheets using 2-1-2 setups that show impressive gains.
Put Rinehart True Duals on my 07 Glide long ago & love them. I know there are alot better performing exhaust systems out there if your mainly performance minded... but the true duals look & sound great to me! Good luck & welcome to the forums!
V&H Pro Pipes sound awesome but the SuperTrapp Supermeg is very tunable. I run 16 disks w/a closed end cap because I wanted it quiet. If you want more sound or top end power, you can choose an open end cap. I like having the option to adjust things. I'm 100% happy with it.
