Technically, the cylinder head temp of the front jug.
And on softails, they have to enable it at the dealer with their computer, or disable. I recommend enabling it. I turned mine on when I got both bikes pictured and have never disabled it.
I have a "11 RKC with it..and it works good at idle to cool the rear cylinder and thus my legs...when it kicks in the rear cylinder almost immediately cools down, I guess all that relatively cool air being pumped through the cylinder and out of the exhaust really helps move the heat away...AND, although it doesn't say this in the owners manual, it can be activated/deactivated with the motor running...
For all those that have SERT (Not the Super SERT) it over rides the ability to turn it off and on. The dealer using (forgot the name) can turn it off or on.
I had the dealer turn mine on but I have never felt it engage - not even stuck in Sturgis traffic. My bike is pretty cool running but sometimes I wonder if the dealer did in fact turn it on.

I know this thread is old, but on my 13 SG with a SERT I CAN roll the throttle forward and turn the feature on and off. I verified it does work by shutting off the rear cylinder in stop and go traffic.
Keep adding fuel, even 30% doesn't make any sense to me either. I've always assumed that under EITMS the rear cylinder becomes an air pump, nothing else.
Your correct, No fuel is added. the EITMS
shuts off the rear fuel injector Which turns back on when You start moving again.

Actually, you can blip the throttle and it will turn it off. I find when engaged, when the light turns green, I blip it quickly to disengage, then accelerate normally. Otherwise, it feels sluggish for the first few feet.
I just bought a 2014 street glide special and the dealer told me the cruse control has to be turned on to use the eitms and that in turning on the cruse would void my factory warranty so I haven't had a chance to use it yet but thanks to all who have posted here it should make my first time using it easier thanks to all

Living in Texas high heat & humidity in the summer it was coming on all the time. I found it to be annoying. Fuel Moto head pipe did away with cat and air compresser turned off
